Golden Afternoon

Golden Afternoon

This is inspired by the painting of Mulliga K's Flower Fields which is somehow I named my illustration the golden afternoon. The warmth and grace of the painting inspires me to trigger the idea of transforming its magnificent image into a peculiar gown. I had difficulties of organizing my ideas to make the gown be relatively appeared like the painting. My first attempt was horrendous for the gown seems enormous and somewhat a exaggerated transformation of the painting. What i did is I lessen its fluffy size and revising its form with graceful flares. The lower gown is covered by a flower formed skirt in the purpose of breaking the ordinary figure of the gown. It is monotonous if I draw the flowers in the same size so I varied the flowers in different colors, sizes, and forms to enhance the gradual appearance of the gown. The Golden afternoon reflects the memory of long goodbyes and I think this is what the painting trying to portray. The gown itself has a significant meaning..it portrays the jar of beautiful memories and the serenity of long goodbyes.
